Hey Robin,
Hey Robin,
SO, I felt very very very good about my Closer audition yesterday. I left
not kicking myself at all! All the work we put in totally paid off and I
felt very good about it. Sleeping on all that info must have worked, cuz it
all came out right in the room...
But as I suspected, it was more of a look-see type of thing. My agent said
the feedback was more than glowing; he said it wasn't your standard "good"
feedback, but that I hit every beat, every emotion, etc. However, I wasn't
the look they wanted for the role...which is completely okay with me! The
important thing was that they were very impressed and I am confident I'll go
in for them again and hopefully book the next one...
Anyway, so thanks again, I couldn't have done that without you!
Talk soon,
Tara
The Robin Brown workshop has been fantastic. It is an excellent example of practical technique combined with artistic foundation. I am especially appreciative that this workshop was set up for an Advanced level of actor with limited attendees: too many of the mass-attendance workshops are so diluted as to be meaningless to anyone who is not a beginner. Robin’s approach is 100%, requiring 100%, and, for me, bore immediate results: warmed-up by his workshops, booked both a commercial and a feature role. Yeah, I had experience and technique going in – but Robin gives us all a good kick in the pants that moves us forward.
Robin, this has been a GREAT workshop! You said it a dozen times – “I’m not telling you anything new” – but as someone who has traveled many of the roads you’ve traveled (especially, being married to a Russian-trained actress/director, Stanislavsky in all his permutations), your clean-cut, direct, “let’s be practical about this, we don’t have 10 hours, etc” approach really helped clean out a lot of clutter. (Still a lot to move out of the way, but that’s an ongoing process.) I really liked your combination of practical auditioning tips that don’t slight the need for artistic and technical clarity.
I expect to be seeing you down the road for periodic tune-ups.
Thanks & Take Care,
Robert Fleet
I just wanted to thank you so much. I learned a lot of incredible information, most important one=WIN. You won't believe how many times I've done the do-my-best-thing. When you think-WIN; it's just different. I've noticed with the auditions that I've gone on recently.
Thank you,
Kay West
I so much enjoyed you and our class at AFTRA.
You make acting fun, by not being intimidated by it.
It is thru the understanding of knowing how to attack or rather,
approach breaking down the scenes and recognizing what to look
for- THEN, that's when it becomes fun!
I desire to be excellent in scene breakdown, because it will
provide me with liberties to play even more, getting outta my head.
It's just a matter of preparation!

First off, I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed the Thursday night classes! It was great to just be able to throw work up and play around with it.
Thanks,

Hi Robin! I wanted to say thank you so much for such a wonderful class. I really enjoyed working with you, and with the great collection of people who came together for this... Your notes and advice were so helpful (particularly the idea of playing with a scene and watching it over and over again in different ways - I discovered how that really frees up a lot of ideas and interpretations for me, and helps me get out of my head!)
Best wishes, and thank you again!

The class has been such a great help and I feel I have a lot more to learn. Thank you for your instruction and insight. I look forward to studying and working with you in the near future, and I would love to work privately on my next audition.
Again, thank you for a wonderful experience.
Take care,
Indira Gibson
Just wanted to say thanks for your teaching these past few months. You've given me a lot to think about and work on.
Happy New Year,

The Showcase AFTRA scene that Zana and I did for the General Hospital Casting Director went great on Tuesday. Thank you for your hard work and time directing us.
Please let me know the new location and date for the classes with you.
Thank You... Janie Steele
